Requesting a New Subdomain or Microsite

Step 0 of 4 completed
1
Decide What You Need

A subdomain is a prefix added to your main domain (e.g. events.yourschool.co.uk). A microsite is a separate small website, often on a subdomain, with its own design and content. Subdomains are useful for separating distinct areas like admissions portals, event pages, or staff intranets.

Contact InnerMedia

Email support@innermedia.co.uk with your requirements: what the subdomain/microsite is for, the preferred subdomain name, whether it needs its own WordPress installation or can be part of your existing site, and any design requirements.

Pro Tip
If the microsite will share the same branding as your main site, it is often quicker and cheaper to build it as a section of your existing WordPress installation rather than a separate site.
3
We Set It Up

InnerMedia will configure the DNS records, set up SSL, create the WordPress installation if needed, and prepare the hosting environment. For simple subdomains pointing to existing content, this takes 1โ€“2 working days.

Review and Launch

Once the subdomain or microsite is ready, we will share a staging link for your review. After your approval, we push it live. The new subdomain will be included in your existing hosting and support package at no additional hosting cost.

Warning
New subdomains may take up to 48 hours to become accessible worldwide due to DNS propagation, though most are live within an hour.
