What Is Conditional Logic?
Conditional logic lets you show or hide form fields based on the visitor’s answers. For example, if someone selects “Prospectus Request” from a dropdown, you can show additional fields for the child’s age and year group. This keeps forms concise while collecting the right information.
How to Add Conditional Logic to a Field
Open your form in the WPForms builder, click the field you want to conditionally show/hide, and go to the Smart Logic tab (or the Conditionals section). Toggle it on and set a rule — for example, “Show this field if [Enquiry Type] is [Admissions]”.
Conditional Logic on Notifications and Confirmations
You can also apply conditional logic to email notifications (send to different recipients based on form answers) and confirmations (show different thank-you messages). Configure these in Settings → Notifications or Settings → Confirmations using the conditional logic toggle.
Tips for Using Conditional Logic Effectively
Keep conditions simple — one or two rules per field work best. Test your form thoroughly after adding logic, as complex chains can produce unexpected results. If you need a form with advanced conditional flows, contact InnerMedia and we’ll build it for you.
