SchoolBus / MIS Integration
What Is a MIS Integration?
A Management Information System (MIS) integration connects your website to your school’s central database — systems like iSAMS, SchoolBus, SIMS, or SchoolBase. This allows data to flow automatically between your website and your admin systems, reducing manual data entry and ensuring consistency.
Common Integration Points
The most common integrations between your website and MIS include:
- Staff directory — Pull staff names, roles, and photos from the MIS so the website is always up to date
- Calendar and term dates — Sync school events and term dates automatically
- Admissions enquiries — Send website form submissions directly into the MIS admissions module
- News and circulars — Publish MIS circulars to the website automatically
- Sports fixtures and results — Display live fixture data from SOCS or similar sports management tools
How InnerMedia Handles MIS Integrations
MIS integrations are typically set up by our development team during the website build. We use the MIS provider’s API (Application Programming Interface) to create a secure connection. The data syncs automatically at regular intervals — usually every 15 minutes to 1 hour.
All MIS integrations use encrypted connections and only transfer the specific data fields agreed with the school. We never store sensitive pupil data on the web server.
Requesting Changes or New Integrations
If you need to modify an existing integration or set up a new one, contact us at support@innermedia.co.uk with details of what you want to connect and which MIS you use. We will assess feasibility and provide a timeline.
