How to Remove or Unpublish a Page
Switching a page to Draft takes it off the live site but keeps the page and its content saved in wp-admin — easy to bring back later. Moving it to the Bin (Trash) removes it from the live site too, and permanently deletes it after 30 days unless you restore it first.
Go to Pages, open the page, and change its Status from Published to Draft in the Status & Visibility panel, then click Update. Visitors will get a 404 if they try to access its old URL directly, but you can republish it any time.
Go to Pages → All Pages, hover over the page, and click Bin (or tick it and choose Move to Bin from Bulk actions). It’s held there for 30 days in case you change your mind, after which it’s permanently deleted.
If visitors were reaching this page from Google, social media, or printed materials, consider setting up a redirect from its old URL to a relevant page instead of leaving a dead link — see our guide on Setting Up URL Redirects.
If the page keeps appearing in your navigation menu or search results after removing it, check Appearance → Menus for a leftover menu item pointing to it.
