Find and Fix Broken Links

Step 0 of 4 completed
1
Check Google Search Console first

The quickest way to spot broken links across your whole site: open Search Console, go to Pages, and look under Why pages aren’t indexed → Not found (404) — this lists URLs Google has found returning a 404 error. See our guide on Verifying Your Site with Google Search Console if you don’t have this set up yet.

2
Check links you've added yourself

If you suspect a particular page, open it on the live site and click through every link on it to confirm each one works — this is the most reliable way to catch a broken link you added recently.

3
Fix what you find

See our guide on Fixing 404 Page Not Found Errors for common causes — a mistyped URL, a page that’s been moved or renamed, or a linked file that’s been deleted from the Media Library.

4
Want a full site-wide scan?

Contact support — we can run a complete broken-link scan across your entire site and send you the full list, rather than checking page by page.
