Accessing the Media Library

Go to Media → Library. This shows every file uploaded to your site. Switch between grid and list view using icons at the top.

Searching and Filtering

Use the search bar to find files by name. Filter by file type and upload date. Name files clearly before uploading.

📁 File Naming Tip

Use lowercase letters, hyphens instead of spaces. Good: 'open-day-banner-2025.jpg'. Bad: 'IMG_20250315_142356.jpg'.

Editing Image Details

Click any image to edit its title, caption, alt text, and description.

Deleting Files

Click a file then click ‘Delete permanently’. Check if it’s used on a page first.

⚠️ Before You Delete

WordPress has no recycle bin for media. Once deleted, the file is gone permanently.
